A 'Nature Cabin' From Thoreau To TURNER!

Everyone watch and then watch a dozen more times the new Punching Bag video on the Home page which features the beautiful writer’s cottage that JOSH built. In the video are many images of JOSH inside as well as outside on his gorgeous country veranda singing and playing TURNER originals. Although JOSH talks about the songs on Punching Bag in the video, you can’t help but notice how proud he is of his new writer’s cottage and there are plenty of images in this video that show his ‘Walden-esque’ sanctuary. He just might be the 21 century ‘Joshua Otis Thoreau’ escaping into introspection and writing great lessons in his music. I am overjoyed that JOSH would share his secret retreat and what a good feeling it gave me to see JOSH’s dream now a reality. I can imagine the exhilarating high for JOSH getting to work in this beautiful and serene place. In his recently completed writer’s cabin in the woods, JOSH has discovered the peace and quiet he needs to create music. Away from his hectic touring schedule, the boys and all the mass distractions, JOSH now can become the modern day Thoreau, sharpening his mind and wit while writing his own kind of music. No, JOSH isn’t chopping wood and even though there’s no cable TV, the meaning and beauty of his writer’s cabin seems to hold all the things important to JOSH. We hear in his music how JOSH connects with the outdoors and the passion he has always had for appreciating the simple beauty in life around him. Finally, JOSH has a place to slow down, breath country air, write country music, sip sweet tea on his wrap around porch and play his guitar. I truly believe that JOSH likes getting lost in the woods in his writer’s cabin metaphorically, so he can find all the great country songs that I crave. I have purposely focused my remarks on only JOSH’s writer’s cottage, but I could write a novel with the cast and content in this Punching Bag video.
