Horseheads Show - AMAZING!!!!

Last night, Josh performed at the Chemung County Fair in Horseheads, NY. This show was my FIRST chance to FINALLY see our man, Josh, live in person!! It was a perfect evening for a concert...despite a little humidity, there was a nice breeze blowing through our track seats which were conveniently located in the back row, right alongside the mixing board and camera operator.

But before we settled into our seats to see Josh on stage, my wife and I had the ULTIMATE honor of being among the many meet & greet fans who were going to have a moment to get up close & personal with Josh himself!! Despite a line that seemed to never end, my wife & I finally had reached the front of the line and there he was...JOSH TURNER in person. He was so gracious and a little shy, much to my surprise. After having a chance to thank Josh for all of his wonderful music, have him autograph my PUNCHING BAG poster and get our picture taken with him, it was time to head back to our seats to prepare for the show!!

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., it was time for that Josh Turner magic to take hold of the 4,000 fans in attendance! After a great opening introduction (I won't reveal it here and spoil it for those that haven't seen the new show yet), Josh came strolling out on stage and immediately launched into PUNCHING BAG...one of my favorite songs! I have to admit that I was a little surprised there was no opening act, but of course, we were all there to see Josh anyway! Right after PUNCHING BAG, Josh greeted the crowd and went right into YOUR MAN. Over the next hour, we were treated to all of Josh's hits -- LONG BLACK TRAIN, EVERYTHING IS FINE, ALL OVER ME and beautiful performances of I WOULDN'T BE A MAN and ANOTHER TRY. If it's at all possible, Josh sounds even better in person than he does on his albums!! It was also great to hear Josh pull out some album tracks like HAYWIRE, EYE CANDY and ONE WOMAN MAN. One of the biggest moments of the show had to be during WOULD YOU GO WITH ME when Josh went to shake hands with the audience members at the front of the stage and one of the ladies actually stepped up on stage and hugged Josh. After the song was over, Josh was clearly surprised and said that he usually shakes hands with the audience during that song but this was the first time anyone had come up on stage with him. All too soon though, it was time for Josh to perform his last song - WHY DON'T WE JUST DANCE. After thanking everyone for coming out to see him, Josh stepped off the stage, the band took their final bows and the show came to a very satisfying end!!

The only drawback to the entire evening's experience was the amount of time we had to actually meet with Josh. The meet & greet line was quite lengthy, and it seemed to me that it was a little rushed moving fans through the line. But considering this was my first time attending a Josh M&G, maybe this was the exception rather than the rule??

Overall, my first Josh Turner concert was the experience of a lifetime!! It was an UNFORGETTABLE performance...one that I will remember forever!!

First, I want to acknowledge

First, I want to acknowledge the wonderful picture NYJoshFan that you and your wife got with JOSH and I love the background of the Cracker Barrel truck. Those pictures went up faster on this site than any other MnG photos. Now that you have seen the iconic superstar of country music perform, you know he’s as talented as he is popular. I’m curious why you thought JOSH was shy, a quality I’ve never recognized in JOSH (another lady once wrote JOSH was shy and I was stunned). Personally, I’ve only seen JOSH radiate confidence and he always knows exactly how to handle any experience. Imagine that gal getting on stage. I’m familiar how that song WYGWM as well as YM usually creates a free for all call when every woman in the audience storms the stage. I also get out of my seat and head right along with them for my best photo-ops. Like you, I’ve never seen anyone connect with an audience in such a palpable way? I am so glad to hear your remarks about the concert and how lucky are you-no opening act. Even though social media has revolutionized the way people interact today, I’d rather read a review like yours, evidence that some still have a mind and not just thumbs that type the word - Aaaawesome! I’ve never read anything relevant or intelligent from Facebook or Twitter anyway. I wish those engaging with blurbs and codes would just send a picture since they say so little and photos say so much. I do appreciate Facebook and Twitter pictures, because there is nothing to get excited about with the limited vocabulary used. It is refreshing to know you had an unforgettable time last night. Thank you for this review and giving me the experience of knowing something about the concert at the Chemung County Fair in Horseheads NY! Well NYJoshFan, looks like you are now a full-fledged JOSH TURNER fan boy.

Thank you so much sito! I'm

Thank you so much sito! I'm glad you liked my review of the show...I tried to write it in such a way that those that weren't actually in the audience would feel like they were after reading it. As for my "shy" comment, that stems solely from the meet & greet experience...he was very gracious and polite for sure, just a little more quiet than I thought he would be. It could also be my perception of Josh being shy is the way that the M&G line was moved through in an expeditious manner. Perhaps it's simply because there were so many M&G fans...if there had been less fans, maybe the line wouldn't have moved through so quickly. Since this was my first time at a Josh M&G, obviously I don't know how they usually work.

Thank you so much again sito for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed my review and yes, I am now a PROUD FULL-FLEDGED JOSH TURNER FAN BOY!!! (-:

Wow!!! It sounds like you and

Wow!!! It sounds like you and your wife had a grrreat time!!! I'm so excited for you both! I knew you would post something about the concert as soon as possible. as I read your report about it here I got so excited myself! It's
almost as if I was there too! I'd like to see the M&G photo too, where do I find it on the web site? I'll bet his smile is even better to see in person than in photo's. Debbie.

Thanks Debbie! Glad you

Thanks Debbie! Glad you liked the review!! The M&G photos can be found by looking up past tour dates and finding the Horseheads show...just click on that show and on that page, you'll find all the M&G photos!!

Thanks for sharing a very

Thanks for sharing a very descriptive account of your first Josh concert. You certainly brought the evening to life for all of us to enjoy, too. Great weather makes an outdoor concert experience extra special. Sometimes it is nice when there is not an opening act because you don't have to sit and wait as long. I also enjoyed your great pictures. Thanks for posting them, too. Oh yes, the meet & greet always goes too fast, but when I see that long line of people waiting to meet Josh I am always amazed that he is willing to meet so many fans just before performing. I guess he could limit the number, but then think how many would be disappointed. I'm happy the evening was all you hoped for--Josh definitely puts on an excellent show and is as good or better live than on recordings. If you are like me you are already looking forward to another Josh concert soon.

I'm SO glad you enjoyed my

I'm SO glad you enjoyed my review!! I was watching the weather for the show for 2 weeks beforehand, hoping that it would cooperate and it certainly did!! Yes, the M&G did go by much too fast...I thought the same thing you did, that they could limit the number of fans so that each fan could spend a little more time with Josh, but that certainly wouldn't be fair. It was amazing the number of fans in line for the M&G...had to be 35-40 fans in all.

You are 100% right that Josh is even better live in concert...it was simply outstanding and you're right, I can't wait for the next show!!! Thanks again for the kind words!! (-:

I'ts only me again. I'm sorry, I found the place to find the
M&G photos. I really liked your photo N.Y.JoshFan. You both looked great standing there with Josh in the middle with his gorgeous smile! I can't wait to meet him someday and have him smile at me too! Debbie.

Thanks Debbie...I had just

Thanks Debbie...I had just said something to Josh when they snapped the picture, so that's why I'm not quite smiling completely in the photo. Oh well...I'll just have to make sure I look better in the next picture I get to take with Josh!! (-;
