Eddie Stubbs and Josh Preview "Punching Bag"

Last night I enjoyed a wonderful show listening online to The Eddie Stubbs Show on WSM radio. Josh sat down with Eddie and they discussed every song on "Punching Bag" as they played it. Both Josh and Eddie have immense appreciation for and knowledge of country music and its roots, so the discussion was both informative and fun to listen to. We learned so much about each song and the instruments and people who played a role in creating and presenting it. I was fortunate to listen to the entire show along with many other Josh Turner fans and friends and we all loved it. Apparently others did too, as Josh mentioned he now knew what it was like to be in an aquarium. I guess the studio has large glass windows on three sides and the crowd gathered around all three to watch. I wish every fan who enjoys Josh's music could have listened to this show. I thank WSM, Eddie Stubbs and Josh for making this show possible for all country fans. I wonder if it is possible to make this available in the archives, so others who didn't get to listen last night might also enjoy listening to it. The show was a very special treasure and I am grateful I heard it.

I wold've liked to have heard

I wold've liked to have heard it as well. I hope there is a way to do so on line. Perhaps someone can help out with this. I love hearing everything Josh does! Debbie. P.S.
Dose anyone besides me have the CD Josh Turner live at the
Ryman? It was only available at Cracker Barrel stores.
It's a real neat CD too!

Debbie, I not only have the

Debbie, I not only have the CD ‘JOSH TURNER Live At The Ryman’, but I’m on it. Yes, whenever you hear that audience, you can’t recognize me, but I can! I was in the 5th role aisle-seat, center-section that April 9, 2007 historic evening! JOSH was sporting a buzzed head back then…so many memories.

I was flipped-out I had to

I was flipped-out I had to miss the Eddie Stubbs program last night, but glad to see your write up about it Njoyjt. I’m sure it was just as you said a treasure. When you told what JOSH said about being in the studio-comparing it to the inside of an aquarium, what a hoot. JOSH is no stranger to aquariums (as we all know visiting is a favourite pass time with those little boys on the road) and the love JOSH has for fish, I guess he knows something about aquariums. Hopefully Njoyjt your suggestion to make this program available in the archives will be heard. I would have enjoyed the always-fascinating Mr TURNER’s interview with Eddie Stubbs. As you stated they both have such roots in country music, it had to be a great conversation. I remember in Nashville at the fan club party listening to the Punching Bag CD with JOSH and each song being instantly loveable to me, and then to hear JOSH talk about each song added another dimension besides the audio I was experiencing. JOSH’s narrative about his songs painted a visual thing for me as well. In addition to hearing JOSH’s music, I also was seeing intimate portraits that hang in my heart still as JOSH spoke about his songs. So I hope this show will repeat and be available again. By the way, it was so nice to get the opportunity to meet you at the FCP.

Yes, I have the Cracker

Yes, I have the Cracker Barrel cd, too and love it. I have often given it as a gift. Eddie and Josh talked about that cd on the show, too. Josh said it was the second in the Cracker Barrel series, he thought. Someone in the background added that it was #2 in sales at CB. Josh replied that he was too humble to tell that. Cracker Barrel is also releasing a new JT album later this summer. I had heard Aug. 27th, but we never know for sure with album releases. They also talked about CB sponsoring Josh's current tour.

Yes, Sito, I was happy to meet you at the fc party also. That is a special thing about the party - we get to meet other fans we only know online. Thanks for keeping this board active.

Incredible Fans! Njoyjt, you

Incredible Fans! Njoyjt, you are a major player creating action on this board too. For a long time I felt like a party of 3 on this new website…’you, tbyrd and me’! Little by little, we seem to be growing. Really, I should talk, for the first 2 years I was a member of the fan club, I never posted a word and now I can’t shut my big mouth. But, I think it is important to share and so many on this board have added to my joy sharing and giving information about JOSH. Look at the man from NY, a super fan who has such wonderful comments and feedback about JOSH and his music for the fandom. And the lovely lady from El Paso who’s writing reflects the life-changing effects JOSH’s music has made on her life, yet she’s never met JOSH. Oh, I can’t forget my favourite graduate from high school, the girl with talent and passion who performs JOSH’s music for her school, yep HP I hope you (we) get that collector edition doll of JOSH. These are 3 amazing standouts on the board, if only I could foster a dialogue and connect with all the others. Thanks to JOSH TURNER I am here.

I believe you were referring

I believe you were referring to me in your comment sito, and for that, I appreciate your kind words!! I feel honored to be mentioned among so many other fans, many of whom have been here and contributing much longer than I have!! But, I'm doing my best to catch up!! Again sito, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I also missed the interview and would love to hear it, if it is somehow made available on-line!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH NJOVIT for

THANK YOU SO MUCH NJOVIT for the information about the new album being released by Cracker Barrel this summer!! Exciting news for sure, and I'll be watching for its release!! It will be interesting to see if this new album will be a collection of studio tracks or, if we're really lucky, perhaps another live album similar to the LIVE AT THE RYMAN CD!! That RYMAN CD is one of my favorites, but I would definitely love to have another live CD with some of his more recent material on it!!
