NO SHOW AT THE RYMAN

I bought 3 tickets closest to the stage at the Ryman where he was scheduled to be on 1-27-12. This was my daughter's birthday gift. Boy what a gift. Josh was cancelled and replaced with a lot of blue grass that we don't care for. Drove all the way from south louisiana to see him and 2 nights in a hotel and still did not get to see him. I think the Ryman uses his name to draw tickets knowing he is not going to be there because they show him there on Feb 10 and Josh's website does not. This is disappointing in the Ryman and Josh if he knows and allows this to happen. Very disappointing that I asked my daughter what she wanted for her birthday and she said to see Josh, we drove so far and did not get to see him after spending so much money. I work hard and do not have money to waste and feel this was a total waste.

A Precarious

A Precarious Position!
Erburgess, thanks for sharing the blunt truth about your experience January 27. How disappointing to pay real money, drive for hours, and see your daughter’s birthday ruined. I don’t know why JOSH cancelled his Ryman appearance Friday night, but I know there must have been a good reason that JOSH’s name vanished from the program. I believe your tickets could be honored at another JOSH opry performance-something you could look into. I can’t imagine how disappointed you and your daughter are, but I’m sure the opportunity to see JOSH will come around again. JOSH loves his fans and he’s a smart, moral young man. I find it difficult to believe that he was manipulated by the Ryman or just decided to be a no-show for that concert. However, I can understand the Ryman or other venues wanting to use JOSH to aim for a broader audience, which seems like a good business decision. I’ve been present several times when JOSH performed at the Ryman and saw that the result of his name being featured always guaranteed a sell-out audience. I’m sorry to hear you were caught in this situation and how it affected you and your family, but try not to let your frustration believe the worst. JOSH is a good man and sometimes life gives us circumstances beyond our control. God bless and a belated birthday wish to your daughter.

I feel your disappointment.

I feel your disappointment. I would be too if that happened to me. But I feel that there must have been an emergency that caused him to cancel. I saw Josh at the Ryman once when he was scheduled to appear and once at the Opry House when he was not scheduled to appear but he was filling in for someone else who had to cancel. Wow, that was a surprise!! What a wonderful evening.
